Zelda visits her mom

Zelda: Today I got to visit my mom. It's been about 5 months since I last saw her, so I didn't really remember her at first. I think she remembered me though, she rushed right up to me! It was lots of fun to hang out with her. We went for a walk all through the woods by her home and she showed me lots of cool stuff.

I had such a big smile on my face the whole time! I was so happy to be able to run through the woods and not have to be on a nasty ol' leash like when we walk through my neighborhood.

After that long walk we were pretty thirsty so we got a nice cool drink...

We weren't done yet though! We played fetch together for quite awhile...my mom was so quick, I couldn't even keep up with her!

Finally we wore ourselves out and rested together in the shade. It's nice to have another Weimaraner to play with...now I don't feel like I'm the only big grey dog in the world!

Dogs can blog too!

We've decided to start our own blog; since our mommy spends so much time on hers, we figured it must be fun! Besides, we have alot to say, and here's a way we can share our thoughts and crazy antics with the whole world!

For our first blog, we decided to share our life stories, for anyone who doesn't already know.

Mimi: I'm the oldest, so I'll go first. I lived in a nasty puppy mill before I came to live with my mommy. It was not a good place to live, they kept me in a small cage all the time and the guy who ran the place was mean to me. It took me awhile to get used to men after I was finally rescued from there. Please, to everyone who's thinking of buying a puppy: DO NOT get one from a pet store or anywhere that buys their animals from puppy mills. It's no way for a dog to live; the mother dogs are kept caged up all the time so they can be breeding machines.

Back to my story: I was not able to have babies (luckily, or I'd probably still be there!) so a rescue group took me from the puppy mill. They took me to the vet to get me spayed, but SURPRISE, I was already pregnant! I'm so glad that mean guy didn't find out before he got rid of me! I was able to have my babies, and they found homes for them, then I stayed with my foster family for a while longer till my mommy came to adopt me. I was glad to get out of there, cause I didn't get along very well with a couple of the other dogs that lived there. My mommy brought me home, where I lived with her and two cats, Chelsea and Quinn. I had been around cats before, so I knew I got along with them. Quinn and I became buddies...Chelsea kind of keeps to herself, but we all get along. I've been living with my mommy now for about a year and a half. Last year my daddy moved in...at first he acted like he didn't like me, he thought I wasn't a "real" dog! Just because I'm small and like to dress up in outfits from time to time doesn't mean I'm not 100% dog! Well, I showed him and now he loves me (who wouldn't!!??) He cuddles with me all the time and loves me just as much as my sister.

Zelda: that's where I come in...I'm the puppy, the crazy puppy, the silly, goofy, hyper, lovable puppy! My mommy and daddy had both wanted to get a Weimaraner for a while (that's my breed...I know some people haven't heard of it or can't pronounce it). They had read books about us and knew that we required alot of time and attention, and had alot of energy. Since my mommy and daddy were living together and had opposite schedules, that meant they could both spend lots of time with me (my mommy during the day and my daddy at night). So my mommy bought me for my daddy as a christmas present. She found a breeder in the area and my mommy and daddy came to visit me. I was kept in a big pen with my brother's and sisters, so we could run around and play together. We each had a different color ribbon around our necks so they could tell us apart. I was 6 weeks old and just the cutest little bundle of floppy skin and blue eyes. When I saw my mommy and daddy come in, I ran right up to them saying "pick me, pick me!" And they did! I stayed with my brothers and sisters and mom for another week, while my mommy and daddy "puppy-proofed" their house (they knew I would be getting into everything!) When they brought me home, I got to meet my new sister Mimi and the cats. Mimi wasn't sure about me at first, but since we were the same size she got used to me pretty quick. Chelsea was not pleased to have another animal in the house, so we keep our distance (well, I try to play with her but she's having none of that!) Quinn's my little buddy...He likes to box with me sometimes...I think it's fun to try to use him as a chew toy. Mimi and I are the best buds though; we love to run around in the yard together. And we cuddle and defend the house together if someone tries to walk past. It's a fun life!
